Hello all,
It's June! And THE CAVALIER OF THE APOCALYPSE is scheduled for a July 21 release. (And, yes, I'm still working on, and am way behind schedule with, the next novel in the Aristide Ravel series...sigh)
CAVALIER has received some great reviews in the publishing/library trade magazines, including a starred review in Publishers Weekly (that's a prize!). (Come by my website to take a look.) I'm crossing my fingers that some newspapers review it when the time comes. If you know anybody in the newspaper business, no matter the size of the paper, please suggest that the paper review the novel -- I'll send along a review copy if St. Martin's doesn't.
On a related topic, in early May I went on a quick trip to Paris to hit the historical museums, visit a few future (fictional) murder sites, take 900 photos, eat a lot of cheese, and visit Maximilien Robespierre's hometown of Arras, which is a lovely town with some really cool 18th-century Flemish architecture and an utterly bizarre underground quarry tour. I'll get some of the photos posted on my Facebook page one of these days.
Happy spring!
Susanne
