WelcomeWelcome to my author website, home of the Aristide Ravel / Click "Works," above, to read about the novels, including first chapters, reviews, and more. I don't blog, folks. Because if I blogged, I would never get anything else written. But I encourage you to sign up for my brief and infrequent newsletter (yep, you do it by clicking on "Newsletter" in the menu bar above), and/ WHAT'S NEW: May 2008: Cavalier is finished! Well, almost finished. My editor still has to vet it and undoubtedly find all sorts of problems with it which will need to be fixed. But the big push is over and yes, the next Aristide Ravel novel should be out in about a year. Whew! Please visit the book page for Cavalier via the "Works" page; I'll post a preview of the first chapter shortly. March 2008: My first published "author interview". Please visit the Bio page, by clicking on the menu bar above, for the full text. Be sure to visit the "Events" page for information about future parties, book signings, readings, etc. Free books: Want a free copy of Game of Patience or A Treasury of Regrets? 1: If you don't already have a copy of one of these, go borrow (or buy) either Game or Treasury from the library or from a friend. (I wouldn't complain if you bought it, of course, but hardcovers are bloody expensive. Your local library will probably buy it if you ask them to.) 2: Read the novel and write a review. It doesn't have to be a five-star rave if you don't feel it deserves a five-star rave, but please be polite. 3: Post your review at Amazon (and/ 4: The first three people to post a review of either novel at Amazon or B&N will receive a free signed copy of your choice of: signed hardcover 1st ed. of Game of Patience signed hardcover 1st ed. of A Treasury of Regrets signed Advance Review Copy (uncorrected softcover proof) of A Treasury of Regrets (Limited quantity. ARCs are super collectible when the author gets famous, which, of course, I intend to do. You can eBay it someday.) :-) 5: Send me an email to alert me about the posted review, and please be sure to include your mailing address. (If you are outside the USA, I do ask you to pay for mailing, as our international rates have gone up outrageously!)
Click "Works" in the menu bar above to learn more about the novel and to read reviews and the first chapter. "If your patrons enjoy historicals and have not yet discovered Alleyn, put her latest on the must-read list." --Library Journal
(By "book club" I mean, of course, a group of friends who meet regularly to discuss a particular book they've all read--not one of those annoying "get four books free now and put yourself in hock to us for the rest of your life" deals.) Are you part of a neighborhood book club or writers' group in the USA, Canada, or UK? If so, would you and your group like to hold a live phone chat with an author? Writers love talking about their work! (It probably comes from spending way too many hours alone at a keyboard.) I'd be delighted to visit on the phone with your group for an hour to answer your questions and/ When I get the next novel out of my hair, I'll be adding some brief discussion guides/ Contact me to set up a date and time for a chat--don't forget to remind me what time zone you're in--and tell me a little about your group. All you need at your end is a speakerphone; I'll pay for the call. I look forward to visiting with you! A Treasury of Regrets, ©2007 Susanne Alleyn. All Rights Reserved.
